A New Age for Fashion

As a proud member of generation Z, it seems that modern technology and the digital world makes our life more convenient and easier; however, I believe it sometimes can do more harm than good. We are in an age that does not lack mediocracy, especially in clothing thanks to fast fashion, but it does lack things of quality and that have longevity, that have been produced by hand, using traditional crafts that machine cannot ever replicate. The overwhelming social media has been creating followers rather than leaders, and l am part of a generation that can reinvent, challenge, and create clothes with purpose. A new age for fashion that shows in the way you treat yourself and those around you, and ultimately, your perspective towards life.

a need to reply

Fashion needs to be more recognisable. Normal people dress like normal people. I think it is time for us to look at what fashion really is and why we need fashion. I believe we can only be creative and innovate if we are true to ourselves. I have a need to reply to all the beautiful things that I see and experience in my life. I’m not good at words, and want to excel at fashion, to let fashion be my language and my communication to the rest of the world.

Sustainability Vision

COVID has changed my lifestyle too. I care more about the products which are close to body and wellness, as well as the brand’s sustainability, environmental and social responsibility towards its customers. While staying at home for majority of my spare time, my focus has been shifted from concerning how I present myself with a beautiful personal image in front of other people to caring more about my own health and what I really need. To adapt to this ‘new normal’ way of life, I want to create or change things by limiting what I take from the environment for a sustainable cause.
